Editorship Search 2026
Thank you for your interest in the editorship of Contemporary Economic Policy (CEP)!
The following information will assist you in the preparation of a proposal:
WEAI provides an editorial assistant located at the WEAI Executive Office. The Executive Office manages all correspondence with the publisher, Wiley, with whom we contract for the manuscript submission and review platform (ReX), journal production, including copy editing, page-proofs and correspondence with the authors after acceptance by the editor, electronic publication and online library hosting, marketing and distribution.
You may wish to address the following in your proposal, along with any other information you feel would strengthen your proposal:
- Goals and objectives for CEP.
- Proposed Editorial Team and governance structure.
- Advantages your institution has to offer CEP.
- Relationship of CEP to the annual conference and the international conference.
- Position of CEP relative to competitors.
- Plans to attract high quality papers and innovative research.
- Ideas for developing the journal’s national/international reputation.
- An editorial process that avoids a partisan attitude and taking a position on theoretical or practical economic questions.
- Resources provided by your department, college, or campus (release time, additional clerical support, office space, etc. if any)
- Resource requirements from WEAI.

The term of the current editor expires with the July 1, 2026 issue. A new editor is expected to be identified by March 2026, subject to WEAI Executive Board approval.
